As the newest member of the Bishops Family Law team, Madeleine completed her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of International Relations at La Trobe University in 2021. Her Honours Thesis addressed the effects of domestic violence laws on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Her studies in International Relations took her to beautiful places like Samoa, where she learned about agricultural practices and sustainability.
Madeleine started her legal career in the hustle and bustle of Melbourne’s Corporate Law world. Seeking more connection with clients, Madeleine made the move into Wills and Estates Law, which she found both challenging and fulfilling.
The wild natural environments in Tasmania called to Madeleine after travelling here extensively, and she seeks to undertake new challenges in Family Law and Wills and Estates in her new home.
Though still at the start of her legal career, Madeleine’s background in various areas of law have made her a solid all-rounder. She brings a holistic and client-centred approach to her practice. She is dedicated to finding the best outcome for her clients, while maintaining sensitivity, support and professionalism.
When she is not in the office, you can find Madeleine exploring the outdoors, around the campfire or with a good book. Madeleine has recently commenced a Certificate III in Information Technology, so she also spends a lot of her free time frustrated with her computer!
